Saturday, May 4, 2013 Shortly before 4 am, Engine 24 made the response to the 200 Block of N. Maple Ave, in Lansdowne, to assist Company 19 on another fire alarm turned building fire in a vacant dwelling. Upon arrival, Engine 24 secured a hydrant and stretched the 250' attack line to side Alpha. Crews searched and located a small basement fire involving a wall and wood framing. Crews remained on scene for approximately 1 hour while the building was ventilated.
Thursday, April 18, 2013 At approximately 03:53 HRS, Company 24 was dispatched for a working building fire at 100 Green Ave, The Penn Wood High School, in Lansdowne Borough. Company 19 (Lansdowne) was originally dispatched there moments prior for an automatic fire alarm, and upon their arrival had fire showing from the main lobby. Saturday, April 13, 2013 East Lansdowne was dispatched to assist Darby Borough with a well involved, 2-story, commercial property used for retail food sales in the downtown business district. Engine 24 responded and was positioned in the rear with Tower 5 and Quint 21 with manpower reporting to staging. Lt. Wednesday, March 6, 2013 On 3-6-13, the company was dispatched to Long Ln at Crosley Rd for the accident with entrapment, involving a mass transit Septa bus. The rescue assignment consisted of Engine Company 24, Rescue 19, and due to the location of the accident, Engine 36-2. Crews worked for over 20 minutes extricating the driver and passenger of a 4 sedan, which was hit broad side by the large bus. Moments later the Police Department advised Fireboard of fire showing from the upper floor of the building. The building fire was dispatched bringing in company 24, 16 and RIT 9. Friday, February 15, 2013 10:35 On 2-15-13, at approximately 10:30 hrs, 02-14 (Norwood Engineer Carl White), while on his way in to work Medic 24-7, observed fire showing from a 3 story home on E. Stewart Ave, in Lansdowne. The working fire assignment was dispatched bringing companies 19, 24, 16, 03 and RIT 9. Engine 24 made the response with 3 personnel, and split laid at the intersection of Wycombe and Stewart, into side Alpha. Saturday, February 9, 2013 19:53 Shortly before 8 p.m., on 2-9-13, the building response was dispatched to the 600 block of Yeadon Ave for the apartment fire. Engine 24, staffed with 5, hit the street quickly, and was advised by 16-12 (Stirling) of a working fire. Upon arrival, Engine 16 (Yeadon) took position on the Alpha side of a 2 story, end of the row brick, with smoke showing 2nd floor. Wednesday, January 9, 2013 On 1-9-13 at approximately 16:56 HRS, Fire-board received multiple calls for smoke in the area of the 700 Block of Long Lane, possibly coming from the Upper Darby Police Sub Station. While approaching the area blanketed by smoke, Engine 36 laid a supply line before being advised by UD-11 (Boyce), that the fire was located in East Lansdowne Borough. Tuesday, January 1, 2013 Just a few hours into the new year, the 1st alarm assignment for Yeadon Borough was dispatched at 03:13 hours to first block of Lincoln Avenue for the dwelling fire. Paramedic Pete Bochanski (M105) notified Fireboard of a heavy smoke condition in the area of Lincoln and Wycombe Avenues and requested the Fire Department at around the same time the 911 Center was receiving calls from the scene.
