N. Maple Ave - Lansdowne

Sunday, May 6, 2012  Companies 19 (Lansdowne), 24 (East Lansdowne), 16 (Yeadon) and RIT 9 (Sharon Hill) were dispatched to the 200 Block of N. Maple Ave, Lansdowne Borough, for a vehicle fire extending into the dwelling with reported entrapment. 19-9A (Worley) arrived and reported the same. Engine 19 took position in the rear alley side Charlie and stretched an attack line. Condolences to the Philadelphia Fire Department

Saturday, April 14, 2012  The East Lansdowne Fire Company joined approximately 150 other members of the Delaware County Fire Service along with thousands of Firefighters from across the country yesterday and today to pay final respect to Philadelphia Firefighters Lt. Robert Neary and Firefighter Daniel Sweeney. The East Lansdowne Fire Company offers condolences to the families of both members and to the Philadelphia Fire Department. Rest easy gentleman, the watch is covered.
 

     

 

Beverly Ave - East Lansdowne

Wednesday, March 28, 2012 1348 The East Lansdowne Fire Company was dispatched for the building response in the unit block of Beverly Ave. Engine 24, under the command of Assistant Chief TreDenick, arrived on location to find a 2 story single family dwelling, 20x30, with smoke showing from the rear of the property. Darnell Ave - Yeadon

Monday, March 26, 2012 0904 Engine Company 24, under the command of Assistant Chief TreDenick, was dispatched to a home in the 800 block of Darnell Avenue to assist the Yeadon Fire Company with a dwelling fire. 16-9B (Kunkle) had Command on what proved to be a founded basement fire. Engine 24, unable to access the rear alley, stretched the 400' 1 3/4" attack line to the rear basement door. Coming up just short, the crew quickly pieced in an apartment pack to extend the line. Serrill Ave - Yeadon

Tuesday, March 20, 2012 0110 Engine Company 24 was dispatched to a home in the 800 block of Serrill Avenue to assist the Yeadon Fire Company with a dwelling fire. 16-9 (DiIenno) had Command and 19-9 (Young) had Operations on what proved to be a founded basement fire. Engine 24 took the rear with the Pipeline in support and advanced a 1 ¾” line into the basement access on the Bravo side. The fire was contained to the basement with minor extension. Cedar Ave - Yeadon

Friday, February 24, 2012  At approximately 02:20 hours the building assignment was dispatched 600 block of Cedar Ave in Yeadon Borough, for the commercial building fire. Engine 04 arrived with nothing showing from the Charlie side. Crews quickly encountered heavy smoke conditions upon forcing entry to the property. Engine 24 was assigned to the alpha side, forced entry, and stretched the 400' attack line into the building. Saturday, February 18, 2012  At it's yearly banquet, the Delaware County Firemen's Association of the State of Pennsylvania honored East Lansdowne Jr. Firefighter Andrew Collins, along with Chris Repine and Andrew Plotts of the Green Ridge Fire Company and Tom Sessa and Vince Lanni fo the Darby Fire Company #1, with the Theodore R. Serrill Ave - Yeadon

Tuesday, January 31, 2012  Company 24 was dispatched to assist the Yeadon Fire Company for a basement fire. 16-12 (Melazzo) had command. Engine 24, under the command of 24-9A (Carr) took position at the rear alley and stretched the 400' handline to the Delta side basement door. Crews extinguished all fire and checked for extension. No injuries were reported.

Wednesday, January 18, 2012  Life Member and Chief of the Service Department, Thomas Johnson Jr. has worked full time for the Upper Darby Police Department since he received his appointment as a patrol officer in 1996. In 2002 he received an appointment as a criminal investigator and in 2005 he was promoted to Sergeant remaining in the Investigative Division. In 2007 he was promoted to Lieutenant and became the commanding officer of one of the Departments Patrol Squads.

Duncan Avenue - Yeadon

Wednesday, January 11, 2012  Company 24 was dispatched to assist the Yeadon Fire Company for a  building fire. M16-7 arrived and reported a working fire. 16-9 (Dilenno) had command. Engine 24 advanced an inch and three quarter attack line to the second floor, however, the fire was held to a mattress and surrounding clothing with a pressurized water extinguisher. Crews were on scene approximately 30 minutes.
