Small Fire In Yeadon

Friday, February 5, 2016  On 2-5, Company 24 assisted Yeadon Fire Company on a house fire in the 800 block of Fern Street. Crews had a moderate smoke condition in the house. 16 command advised Engine 24 to lay a supply line. Crews found fire in the ceiling of the basement. Engine 24 assisted with extinguishing the fire and overhaul. Companies operated for 1 hour and 20 minutes. No injuries reported.


   


 

Bedroom Fire in Lansdowne

Monday, January 25, 2016  On 1-25, Company 24 assisted the Lansdowne Fire Company with a house fire on the unit block of nyack avenue. Pipeline 19 had smoke showing from the second floor and placed a line in service. Engine 24 laid a second supply line and assisted with overhaul and water supply. No injuries were reported and crews returned a little over an hour.


   


 

Apartment fire with entrapment

Friday, January 1, 2016  On 1-16, Company 24 assisted the Yeadon Fire Company with a apartment fire in the 300 block of North Front street. Companies arrived with smoke showing from the 3rd floor and a report of a person trapped. Engine 24 arrived and was assigned ventilation via the roof. Pipeline 24 assisted with overhaul and water supply. Crews were in service for 2 hours and 27 minutes. One civilian was rescued from the apartment and, was transported to the hospital.


   


 

Another fire on Chester Ave

Saturday, October 17, 2015  On 10/17, at approximately 23:34 hrs, the commercial building assignment was dispatched, again, to the 1100 Block of Chester Ave (Yeadon) for a warehouse on fire. Engine 16 arrived to find a 1 story, 25’ x 60’ commercial strip with fire showing from the roof. Engine 16 placed an attack line in service and entered through the front, while the crew of Engine 24 deployed an attack line in the rear. Small fire in Lansdowne

Wednesday, September 30, 2015  On 9/30, Engine 24 made the response to the unit block of Knoll Rd (Lansdowne) for the building fire. 1st arriving units found a small fire on the first floor and were able to contain it to the area of origin. Engine 24 laid a supply line and assisted crews with searches and ventilation. Crews returned to service within one hour.




   


 

Commercial Building fire in Yeadon

Tuesday, September 22, 2015  On 9/22, at approximately 03:16 hrs, the commercial building assignment was dispatched to the 1100 Block of Chester Ave (Yeadon) for a warehouse fire. Units arrived to find a 1 story, 25’ x 60’ vacant business fully involved. Crews went into service with master stream devices and covered all sides of the building. Engine assist to Darby for a house fire

Wednesday, September 9, 2015  Engine 24 was dispatched to the 600 Block of Greenway Ave, Darby Borough, for a building fire. Engine 4 (Darby) was on location with a 2 story twin, with fire on the second floor. Due to temperatures in excess of 95 degrees, more manpower was requested to being the fire under control. Engine 24 performed overhaul and wet down hot spots. Crews returned to service a short time later.

   


 

1st Due House Fire

Wednesday, August 12, 2015 

At approximately 05:35, Engine 24 was dispatched to the area of the Unit Block of Wildwood Ave for a smoke investigation. Moments after dispatch, the assignment was upgraded to a building fire in the Unit Block of Lewis Ave. Engine 24 made the response within seconds and arrived to find a 3 story single family dwelling, 20’X 50’, with smoke showing from the 2nd floor. Commercial Building Fire in Yeadon

Tuesday, August 11, 2015  At approximately 4:50 hours, Engine 24 made the response to the 1100 Block of Chester Dr (Yeadon Borough) for the commercial building fire. Engine 16 arrived and reported a 1 story commercial building with smoke showing from the roof. Engine 24 arrived as the 3rd In Engine, laid a supply line, and backed up Engine 16 with the 200’ attack line. Fire was contained to the first floor. Searches for fire extension and victims yielded negative results.

   


 

Dwelling Fire in Lansdowne Borough

Tuesday, July 28, 2015  On 7/28, at approximately 12:50 Hrs, East Lansdowne was dispatched to a house fire in the Unit Block of Union Ave, Lansdowne Borough. Upon arrival, Engine 24 reported a 2 story twin dwelling, with smoke showing from the A/D sides. Engine 24 deployed the 200’ rear attack line, and was met by fire in the dining room. The fire was quickly extinguished and held to the first floor. All searched for victims and fire extension proved negative. Engine 24 returned to service after 3 hours.
